It kind of came out looking Lady Gaga-ish, but I guess that's ok because who has crazier, sexy wigs than Gaga?

Yellow Sparkle Wedding cake - This one was for the cutest bride. I just loved her. My cute friend Vicky referred her to me and she was just a breeze to work with. Her one request was that she have sparkle on her cake instead of the pearls I usually use for beading. So we used non-edible sparkles for this one. I don't love doing that, but I have to admit, I really liked the 'sparkle'. :) Vicky told me that it must have been tasty too because there was not one piece for them to take home at the end of the night. Yay! I love when people actually eat the cake.

Purple Daisies Wedding Cake - This one was extra stress for me. Early on in my cake making career, I made a cake for this bride's older sister. There was a misunderstanding about dates (before I started getting it in writing. *grin*) with her sister's cake and I ended up doing the cake in 90 minutes and only got there about 45 minutes before the reception ended. It was a disaster. So this time I wanted everything to be perfect. It went off without a hitch this time. :) Thank heaven! I am glad they are good friends and gave me a second chance.

I was worried about using black on the baby side, but it was important to the flow of the cake. But I really like the contrast of the black with the lighter colors. Fun stuff!

The bottom was peanut butter cake with chocolate filling and peanut butter icing and the top two were red, white and blue marble cake. :) So fun!

So, as many of you know, my beautiful sister, Jan, passed away last month leaving us way too soon after being diagnosed with Stage V Gallbladder cancer. My dear friend Jenny, who passed away a few years ago now, died from complications from her brain tumor. Cancer is leaving a lot of big holes in my heart. For this reason, I have decided to participate in the Relay for Life on June 24th and 25th. Ganesha cake - I was so excited for the challenge of this one. I simply love cakes that are out of the realm of what I normally do. It is so fun for me to go outside of my box. I loved the detail I got to do on this cake and the reaction was really so much fun. Great people to work with. The cake was lemon with raspberry cream cheese, but there was much debate on whether or not anyone could cut into it to taste it. :) So fun!

Bright colored purse cake - This one was a lot of fun for me. My friend had taken her daughter to the Farmer's Market earlier in the month and she had bought this adorable purse there. We had already decided to do a purse cake for her birthday, so I thought it would be especially fitting to do a cake just like her actual purse. She was so excited. It made my day.

Best Birthday cake ever - I named this cake not because I think it is gorgeous or anything like that. I named it because it was for my big sister who I love very much. She was just diagnosed with Stage 5 gallbladder cancer, so I told her next years will be even better if she can stay with us. I am in Phoenix so I had help with this one. It was a labor of love. My mom made all the ribbon roses and the loops for the bow and my sister-in-law made all the daisies and the cute bags. Oh, and the real necklace that is on there. :) I love my helpers and my sister and hope this brought her joy. I love you Jan!

Tigger cake - This was a very last minute cake for a one year old boy and I didn't have a lot of time to make it as perfect as I wanted, but I hope they liked it. :) It was spice cake with cream cheese icing, the tail was rice cereal treats.

Winnie the Pooh "Pooh Sticks" cake - This was for a friend of mine. Her little girl specifically wanted the "Pooh sticks" scene. I always get so nervous to do such iconic characters, but I really have a good time with them. The cake was banana sour cream cake with cream cheese icing.

Bamboo Scroll Wedding cake - This bride sent me photos of what her table settings were going to look like and I created a cake to match. I really love doing cakes this way. The reception was at the Union Station in Ogden and was a rustic, beautiful setting for this cake.
