50th birthday cake

50th birthday cake - I wasn't going to post this one because it was such a stress cake for me, but I decided it at least shows how I am under pressure. *grin* This cake was perfect the first time and I was so happy about it. Then someone in front of me stopped amazing fast for this little cat and the cake....well....at least the cat lived. I was a puddle of tears, but pulled myself together and headed back home. I had an hour until the party. The top layer was not salvagable, but the bottom two were not badly damaged. So I threw some rice cereal treats in a pan and recreated the top layer. Luckily, other than a few broken arms, noses and ears...the figures stood up really well. The man on top is a little shorter than he was, but all in all, a good save. It is still not as pretty as it was (unfortunately I didn't get a picture before I left), but for a cake that grew wings, not so bad either. :) Luckily, it was for a dear friend of mine and she was a sweetheart about the whole thing.

Airboat fishing cake - I was stressed about doing this one with how busy my week has been, but I adore this family and really wanted to fit it in for them and I am glad I ended on this note. It was a fun no stress cake and was a great way to end the weekend.

Blues Clues 2 - I wasn't going to post this one because I rarely post cakes when I have already done the same cake before, but I liked the way Blue turned out so much better on this one that I decided to post.

Presley Wedding cake - I was so excited about this one when she showed me the design she was looking for. I love white on white wedding cakes. Bottom layer was lemon cake with strawberry filling, middle was french vanilla, top was white with raspberry.

Mario vs Luigi - Partners in Time cake

Mario vs Luigi - Partners in Time cake - This cake is based on a Nintendo DS game. The little boy was very particular about wanting the cobalt star and the time portal so I wanted to make sure those were the big focus of the cake. When I looked up what time portal was, I was happy to see that I could make the actual cake the time portal. This was just a fun cake for me. I love doing Mario cakes.
