Make-A-Wish Frozen birthday cake

I wanted to do something extra this year for the cute little Make-A-Wish girl who helped me unveil my Macy's ornament so I asked her to contact me for a free birthday cake. I didn't think she'd remember so I was so pleased when she reached out! So excited to see her face tomorrow.

Sugar Skull Birthday

This was for my darling Liza friend. This woman does so much for everyone around her. I always like when I can give a little bit of that back. October babies are the best!

Bunny birthday

I always love doing cakes for this family. They are usually simple and sweet and sometimes those are my very favorite. This one is pink French vanilla with sprinkles on the inside. Not to mention, simple and sweet is exactly what this family is. Thanks for including me in your celebration again!

Papageorge birthday

This one was for my old neighbor. She is the sweetest, most hard-working lady. I mimicked the sign they have at the entrance to their dairy farm because it is so iconic to those who grew up on that street. It's what I think of when I think of this amazing family. Happy Birthday Helen!

Winter wonderland

Winter wonderland - Pulled an all-nighter with this one for a cute friend who was being a good friend and needed a last minute cake. The best part of this cake is that she tipped me with a crock pot meal for tonight. But tip ever! Especially from a recent culinary school graduate. I'm thinking I probably would have just traded her for more amazing freezer meals!

Grandma Dabb cake

Grandma Dabb cake - This was a cake to celebrate what would have been my Grandma Dabb's 100th birthday. I remade the bottom because I wasn't happy with it the first time and then during delivery the torrential rain and humidity made the frosting slide down the sides and it was ruined. So this picture is to show my cousins that at one point, it was a beautiful tribute to our amazing grandmother. Just glad it was going to my family who love me anyway! Also, when I first arrived, my Aunt Jeanette came to greet us. Because of the rain, she had on a hood, was carrying and umbrella and was bent over a little. My heart raced when I saw her as she looked exactly like grandma. I knew it wasn't real, but for a couple seconds, my heart was so happy to see her there. Sorry if I hugged you a little tight Aunt Jeanette. You gave me a little taste of heaven. Love you all! Happy birthday Grandma!

Simple polka dot cake

Simple polka dot cake - I was running so much today I never got a picture of this one. Thank heaven it went to one of my all-time favorite photographers! I am always uber self-conscious of my buttercream cakes....they are certainly not flawless. I almost wanted to cover this one in fondant, but this tall skinny cake would have been super hard to cut and serve with fondant hiding my flaws. So I had to be a big girl and decide to breathe and let it go.

Simple Horse

Simple horse cake - This little cake was the perfect excuse to experiment with my buttercream ruffles. Thanks Ryan and Shannon for letting me use you as my guinea pigs. Hope she has a fabulous birthday!

Valentine 60th birthday cake

Valentine 60th birthday cake

Glow in the dark cake

Glow in the dark cake - This was the first of my cakes today. It was for a glow in the dark birthday party so I painted the green with a mixture of jello and tonic water. It's supposed to make it glow in the dark. I didn't have a way to test it, so fingers crossed!

100 year old rosettes

100 year old rosettes - Buttercream scares me to death. It is so unpredictable and so many things can go wrong. But when you make it to 100 years old, you deserve the best. :-) This was for Ethan's teacher's grandma. This time I watched the ice.

Quilted 40th Birthday cake

Quilted 40th Birthday cake - I was really nervous about this cake. It's super hard to design a quilt cake that doesn't look busy. It took me 10 hours because of all the tiny pieces that were each detailed by hand with edible markers, but I am super excited about how it all came together. It's official, I am much better at quilts made from fondant, than I am with the real thing. LOL

Minion cake Bob

Minion cake Bob - I do believe this is my new favorite cake ever! Not because I like the way it turned out better than any other, but because it just makes me smile. Every time I look at it! Also, the person I made it for makes me smile. Every time I see her! Combine the two and you have the best memory in cake land ever. Thanks for calling me Ashley!  I love and miss you!

Arabian Nights cake

Arabian Nights cake - With a name like Jasmyn you just have to have a magic carpet cake. This was the second of my Bunco prize cakes. I only had one in my original stash, but I loved the accent pillows I bought so much that when she wanted a cake instead, I had to relent. :-)

Vintage tea party cake

Vintage tea party cake - This one was for a lady in my neighborhood who is such a selfless lady. No one works harder to make sure her kids are taken care of than this lady. I think she may be undervalued sometimes as most moms are so I wanted to do something that was all about her for once. Love you Cassie.

Tennis Queen

Tennis Queen - This one was for the mom of my neighbor and friend. She is a class act and a first rate tennis player, even at 60 years old. You should see her guns...she's buff! She is also super selfless. My little sister's church group needed a place to go camp after the passing of one of their members at Bear Lake this summer. This family offered up their cabin up East Canyon way and didn't even charge this huge group a rental fee. Truly a class act. How could I not make her birthday a little brighter.

Owl first birthday

Owl first birthday - This was for my sweetest niece ever Brooklyn! You have never met a happier baby. I just love her cute face! She was a riot with this cake!

Joan cake

Joan cake - This one was for my second mom. It was last minute and I didn't have a lot of time, so it had to be simple, but I wanted it to reflect her. I remember her swearing at all of the pods that would fall off her tree. We used to use them as light sabers for our Star Wars games or guns for Charlie's Angels. .....I know....that dates me. :-) There was always beautiful music in the air when you went to her house because she plays her baby grand piano like an angel. We would shuck and freeze corn that we grew ourselves every year. On the other side is her cat Milo and a jack-o-lantern, which is another family tradition. The sunflower not only represents the farm, but also Jenny, her amazing, sweet, fun, daughter that she lost to cancer a few years back. The Superwoman logo is of course because she literally does it all. She has stepped into so many roles in her life out of necessity and has come out on top every time. She is simply the most amazing, classy farm girl I have ever had the privilege of knowing.

Rainbow My Little Pony cake

Rainbow My Little Pony cake - I love doing cakes for Mandee's cute girls.  This one was crazy because I ran out of powdered sugar and had to spin my own out of granulated sugar. Thank heaven kids are forgiving when it comes to sugar.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and smash cake

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and smash cake - Normally I dislike plastic figures on cakes, I feel like it is cheating, but I didn't have time to do fondant characters, so there you go.  :)
