Shades of Blue Wedding Cake

Shades of Blue Wedding Cake - I love it when I get to just use my imagination and come up with my own ideas. All they asked was that it be very simple with shades of blue. I tried new flowers on this one and had so much fun. Even though I am so tired now since I had to work at my real job as well. :) This was for someone from my old neighborhood. Her mom was an angel to me when I was a very shy teenager. Love you Molly! Thanks for letting me be a part of your little girl's day. :)

Two Tier Hello Kitty Cake - This one was for my cute friends Jeff and Melody...well...for their daughter Natalie anyway. :) It was a rush for me since we finally got an offer on our house tonight and I work a regular job now, but it was fun...I admit it. :)

Christian Louboutin shoe box cake

Christian Louboutin Shoe Box Cake - This was for a work friend of mine. These shoes were probably the most difficult shoes I have ever made. I am not 100% happy with them but I still had fun with the overall look of the cake. Maybe I am just out of practice now that I have a job. :) I just hope she likes it. :)

Strawberry Shortcake Cake and Cookies - I don't usually like to duplicate cakes, but I just got this new toy and thought it would be SO fun to use to update this cake....and it was! I got a new mold that I used on the buttons and ribbon and I am so happy with the effect. :)

Trevor Wedding Cake - It is so much fun for me to do wedding cakes for people I knew as kids. The bride was so fun to work with and even though I am working full time now and had to stay up all night doing it, I still enjoyed it. :) Thanks Trevor and Stephanie!

Kung Fu Panda Po Cake - I always stress over buttercream cakes with fondant accessories because the fondant is heavier and I can't put in as much detail as I like, but making Po was a blast. :)

Winnie the Pooh Shower Cake - This was for Ania as well, but for her friend's baby shower. I can't take credit for the design. She found the design on the internet. I wish I knew who to credit. But I loved how simple and sweet it was.

Soccer 16th Birthday cake

Soccer 16th Birthday cake - This one was a trade. Love those. :) Everyone says the soccer ball is a tough shape to master. Everyone is right. :)

Hand Drawn Winnie the Pooh cake

Hand Drawn Winnie the Pooh cake - This one was a first birthday cake, so of course it had a matching smash cake. I really LOVE drawing, so these are always fun for me. I also love classic Pooh and it was fun to get to draw some different scenes this time.

Wig cake

Wig cake - This was for Ania. I have done a lot of cakes for her in the past for her kids and other people, but this was my first time doing one for her own birthday. She told me the theme was "Sexy Wigs", and she wanted the cake to reflect that. This is what I came up with. :) It is fun having a blank slate sometimes. It kind of came out looking Lady Gaga-ish, but I guess that's ok because who has crazier, sexy wigs than Gaga?

Draped Floral Wedding cake - This was a wedding cake that I did a while ago for the step-sister of one of my best friends. I did it quite a while ago but just realized it never got posted. So here it is now. :) Better late than never.

Yellow Sparkle Wedding cake

Yellow Sparkle Wedding cake - This one was for the cutest bride. I just loved her. My cute friend Vicky referred her to me and she was just a breeze to work with. Her one request was that she have sparkle on her cake instead of the pearls I usually use for beading. So we used non-edible sparkles for this one. I don't love doing that, but I have to admit, I really liked the 'sparkle'. :) Vicky told me that it must have been tasty too because there was not one piece for them to take home at the end of the night. Yay! I love when people actually eat the cake.

Purple Daisies Wedding Cake

Purple Daisies Wedding Cake - This one was extra stress for me. Early on in my cake making career, I made a cake for this bride's older sister. There was a misunderstanding about dates (before I started getting it in writing. *grin*) with her sister's cake and I ended up doing the cake in 90 minutes and only got there about 45 minutes before the reception ended. It was a disaster. So this time I wanted everything to be perfect. It went off without a hitch this time. :) Thank heaven! I am glad they are good friends and gave me a second chance.

Two sided Missionary/Baby Shower cake

Two sided Missionary/Baby Shower cake - this was a two sided cake, one for an LDS missionary who had just returned home and one side for a baby shower they were holding the same day. I was worried about using black on the baby side, but it was important to the flow of the cake. But I really like the contrast of the black with the lighter colors. Fun stuff!

Angry Birds Ham em High cake

Angry Birds Ham em High cake - This was a quick one, but so much FUN! I would love to have gone into even more detail, but I didn't have a whole lot of time. It was based on the Ham 'em High level (6 I think)that I am currently stuck on. :) It was yellow cake with strawberry filling.

Dr. Suess 1st birthday cake with matching smash cake - I have wanted to do a Dr. Suess cake for a really long time and I was so excited to have the opportunity to do one finally. I really wanted to do a fox in a box from green eggs and ham, but this one was super fun too. :) Some day...

Classic castle cake - I was kind of excited for this one because it was a throw-back to my old work. When I was a cake newbie, I did a whole lot of castle cakes, now, not so much. So it was kinda fun to go back to the basics a bit. :)

4th of July Flowers and Bows cake

4th of July Flowers and Bows cake - This one was for a cute mom who told me just to be creative using red, white and blue and said to make it 'girly'. I came up with a smaller design, but it just wasn't as pretty as the full three layer cake. :) So we went a little nuts, but I had SO much fun with it! The bottom was peanut butter cake with chocolate filling and peanut butter icing and the top two were red, white and blue marble cake. :) So fun!

Fireworks cake

Fireworks cake - This one was a fun cake for six 4th of July birthdays. It was going to Wyoming...hope it made it! :)

Retired Teacher Cake

Retired Teacher Cake - This was made along with matching cookies. I would have liked to do a lot more with it, but it was a super fast cake after Relay For Life and another wedding. Gotta love my all nighters!

Chocolate Baptism cake

Chocolate Baptism cake - This was for my sweet little Isaac. I totally love this kid...he is so adorable! I asked him what he wanted his cake to be and he said, "Chocolate with lots of chocolate chips." Then he said later he would like him getting baptised on it too. :) So I thought I would cover the whole thing with chocolate chips. It took forever and my arm was definitely tired, but it was worth it. He was absolutely thrilled with it.

90th birthday cake

90th birthday cake - This was a last minute cake and cupcakes I did for a 90th birthday party. What can I say...I am a sucker for 90 year olds. Hope I get to see my 90th. :)

King for a Day cake

Lighthouse cake - This one was fun for me. We needed to combine her love of lighthouses with the love of her boat. It is carrot cake with cream cheese icing.

Jeweled Wedding Cake - This one was for Kymberly's Kindergarten teacher so she watched me the entire time I was making this. The damask isn't as perfect as I wanted because my Cricut was not cooperating with me that day, but we are all our worst critics right?

Lynksys router groom's cake - The groom is a big computer geek and this is his favorite router. The router is so slim, I decided to do it on a desk because there wouldn't have been much cake to it otherwise. :)

Quilted Wedding cake - This one was dear to my heart because the father of the bride is my cousin and the mother of the bride is my surrogate sister. :) It was also a design I hadn't really done before, so that always makes it more interesting for me. Congratulations Jess & Bill!!

Talent Show Cake - This one was a super quick one...really rice krispies. :) I had been talked into doing a table for the ward talent show and completely forgot to put it on my calendar...so I made extra flowers when I did my wedding cake and did a quick version to bring over. Kinda fun though. :)

Spock cake - This was for a friend whose son is on an LDS mission in Salt Lake right now and he loves Spock.

School cookies

School Cookies - These were done for my cute teacher friend to use for teacher gifts and for each of the kids in her class. What a fun teacher right? :)
