Duck Hunt cake - It was quite challenging for me to decide exactly what I wanted to do with this cake. A two tier would have been more cake, but you just don't get the real 'hunting boat camouflaged in the water' effect with that. So I went for a larger base. I was not going to put the dead duck on the boat because it made me sad. *grin* But my son insisted and I am glad that I did because it was the little boy's favorite part. Boys! LOL

Buttercream Diego cake
Buttercream Diego cake - This is for the same customer as the Dinosaur cake. I learned from that one that heavy fondant figures on a buttercream cake is not a good idea. :) So I decided to make this one with Diego plaques instead of figures. I love doing my figures, but I still liked how this one turned out. I am including a close-up of the Bobos (I think that is how you spell it. *grin*) because I just love these guys.

Guitar Hero cake
Guitar Hero cake - This is a lemon cake and the fist is rice cereal treats. This was a last minute cake for a dear friend of mine. The fist of rock on top was by far the toughest thing I have created so far. Much to my surprise. So someone needs to give me a reason to make a second version of this one. :)

Pirate Ship cake
Pirate ship - This is all chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream. I am usually completely against using things that are not edible on my cakes, but I had a sad little girl with an ear infection this same night and I wasn't able to let the sails dry long enough. They were way too weak to attach, so I made do with paper sails. But all in all, this was a super fun cake!
Emily's "Create your own cake" party
Emily's "Create your own cake" party - This was a fun thing to do. Emily my good friend's daughter. I have made her birthday cakes for years now, she plans them months ahead as do all her siblings. This whole year she has been telling me that she wanted to help make her own cake the next time. So they decided to make a whole party of it. I brought stuff to help them make cupcakes and cookies and they had so much fun! I forgot to take pictures of the cake we made...duh! But here are some of their creations. They did their own thing on the cookies and then I showed them how to make roses the easy Duff Goldman way for their cupcakes. They frosted their own cupcakes with the icing bags as well. Way too fun! It was SO much work, but it was worth it for Em. Happy Birthday Em!
