Vintage Grey Lace wedding cake

Vintage Grey Lace wedding cake - This cake is a close contender for my all time favorite.  I still love Jared and Rachel's cake the most but this was a super close second for me. I didn't know if I would love it going in, but once it came together, I fell in love.  It was the most stressful cake I have done in years.  I was trying to be considerate of the sleeping people in my house and had the light on in the dining room, but not the kitchen. I dyed the WHOLE BATCH purple. I put it on the bottom cake not realizing it was purple, not gray and thought, wow, that looks bright for grey, turned on the light and freaked out! I didn't have any extra powdered sugar to make more. and I didn't have time to remake the layer entirely, so I found out you can mix in yellow to make gray. If that wasn't enough, during delivery, someone pulled out in front of me and I had to slam on my brakes.  The top layer was not stacked yet and because it is taller than a normal top layer, it's center of gravity was precarious anyway and it tipped over, luckily just hitting the side of the van so I was able to repair it on site.  Maybe that is one of the reasons I love it.  I was just so happy it turned out so well after all that.  LOL

Ivory Draped Petal wedding cake

Ivory Draped Petal wedding cake - This is one of my favorite cakes I have ever done.  It was a giant 5 tier wedding cake but it still had simple elegance. White on white, or ivory on ivory in this case, is my favorite.  But I think this would be beautiful fading into a color at the bottom as well.

Winter Wedding cake with a touch of Star Wars

Winter Wedding cake with a touch of Star Wars - This was for a good friend of the family. She is darling and her dad is one of Alan's good friends and one of the biggest Star Wars fans I know. So I threw in a special snowflake as a tribute to Steve.  This one made me cry because it was cut so fast, but at least for once all the cake was eaten!

Kenzie wedding and Red Sox groom's cake

Kenzie wedding and Red Sox groom's cake - I always love doing weddings for this family.  Each of Hilary's kids have their own unique style and their personalities pop in every cake.  I feel so blessed to have been a part of every wedding so far.  This was a simple, super classy design which is totally Kenzie, but she is also such a fun girl and couldn't wait to surprise her hubby with his groom's cake.  His reaction was priceless.

Little purple petals wedding

Little purple petals wedding - This design was originally in all white.  I fell in love and couldn't wait to do it.  When she asked me to us purple and mint green instead, I have to admit...I was pretty sad.  But once I saw it all coming together, I caught her vision.  The petals were individually cut and feathered and it took an entire day just to finish that part, but it was worth it.  I do hope someone eventually asks me to do this in champagne, ivory and blush.  Can you just see it?

Kym Wedding cake

Kym Wedding cake - I was so beyond thrilled to get to decorate this wedding cake.  Kym was one of my roommates once upon a time, but more than that she was one of my very best friends.  This cake was the caveat to us finally catching up after years of me wondering why those dumb boys had all passed up such a great catch.  I love this girl and am so happy for her and her super sweet hubby.  She let me have free reign and so I really enjoyed this one.  I am just glad she didn't stand by the cake.  It would have paled in comparison. She was stunning.

Vintage rose wedding

Vintage rose wedding - I wasn't sure what to think of this design originally, but with all the ruffles and just the one gumpaste flower and the beautiful stand and lighting, this scaled down wedding cake was still the centerpiece of the room.

Purple Mad Hatter Wedding cake

Purple Mad Hatter Wedding cake - I always hate making these ones, but I love the end result.  Such a fun, but classy cake design.

Classic Stripes Wedding cake

Classic Stripes Wedding cake - I really like the trend of going with a smaller classic cake.  Get the right stand and these can make a big statement.

Black and red vine wedding

Black and red vine wedding - This is kind of a classic look.  It was great with all the damask and the whole thing was peanut butter and chocolate cake.  I was just worried the wind would blow it away.  It was crazy!

Vintage pink floral wedding

Vintage pink floral wedding - The classic simple look is the most difficult because there is no room for a wrinkle or other mistake, but I just love the outcome.

Brown Bear, Brown Bear What do you See First Birthday cake

Brown Bear, Brown Bear What do you See First Birthday cake - I love theme cakes for kids.  This one was a lot of fun because it was based on the vintage version of this story.

Jungle baby shower cake

Jungle Baby Shower cake - This was for my bestest across the street friend.  Her grandson is the cutest little guy ever!

Baby Shower cupcakes

Baby Shower cupcakes for my darling sister-in-law.

Golden Anniversary cake

Golden Anniversary cake - This one was for a sweet friend.  It is another replica cake.  I love to use elements fro the original wedding cake and work them in to an updated design.
Snowflake Cupcake Wedding Tower - It is so nice to feel like you are giving back to someone who gave so much to you.  Thanks Diane for thinking of me!  Unfortunately, I forgot my camera here so I only have blurry cell phone pics.

Rainbow My Little Pony cake

Rainbow My Little Pony cake - I love doing cakes for Mandee's cute girls.  This one was crazy because I ran out of powdered sugar and had to spin my own out of granulated sugar. Thank heaven kids are forgiving when it comes to sugar.

Transtrum wedding

This one was great.  Such a cute bride and groom and the cake stand was situated on a big barrel.  So fun.

Quentin's garbage truck

This one was for my cute Sunbeam Quentin.  He loves the garbage truck and couldn't think of anything cooler than having that for his cake.  So I stalked the garbage man and took pictures of our Morgan garbage trucks. I am sure he thinks I am a total creeper now.  LOL

Aww...asparagus

Aww..asparagus.  This was a fun "healthy" cake for my cute Eric friend.
