You know how much I love our sheep kids. Peyton asked me to do his birthday cake, I told him I couldn't because it was fair week. But his disappointment haunted me so guess who gets a surprise tomorrow. I hope he likes it because I sure had fun making it!

Fortnite Birthday Cake

This one was for Alan's new boss' son. Surprisingly, none of my kiddos are into Fortnite... so I hope I got this one right. 😊 The actual cake is marble so I colored the vanilla part of the marble and made it camouflage inside. I hope it hits the mark!

Infinity Gauntlet Avengers birthday cake

40th birthday cake for my amazing brother-in-law Clint Kotter. The gauntlet is the "4" and the shield is the "0." I'm not great drawing people even in comic form, so I was sort excited they at least looked like the people they were supposed to be. 😁 I was so excited to finally do a cake for the guy who's been so great to our family! And I'll have you know, Drew supervised the whole thing to make sure I got it right. We adore you Uncle Clint!

Plants vs. Zombies cake

Plants vs. Zombies cake - Finally someone asked! I have always wanted to do this cake. Having just had surgery, I told her we would have to go really simple because I still wasn't feeling 100%. But I just couldn't stop myself. Plants vs. Zombies used to be one of my favorites so this one was pure joy for me. I love when it feels less like work and more like happy. And the hug that I got from the sweetest little kiddo ever would have made it worth it even if it was work. Love you guys!

Think Young cake

Think Young cake - This was for my cute neighbor whom I miss so much!!! Her dad is celebrating his 60th. His legacy is the Young Autogroup and Rocky Mountain Raceways, but he has also climbed Mt. Everest twice, so you have to document that. What a guy...and his crowning glory in my opinion, is what an amazing daughter he raised, but I couldn't find a place to put her on the cake. :-) All of the logos are hand painted, no tracing here...so that took me most of the night. My Achilles heel is the making of fondant cars. I hate it, I am horrible at it. so yes, those are hot wheels. Sorry cake universe.

Finding Nemo whale cake - Happy birthday to the cutest kid on the planet (next to my nieces and nephew of course) His mom said the whale from Finding Nemo was his favorite, which I loved! So original and fun.

Stacked monster cake - I love cakes with personality. So much more fun. I didn't have time for three layers with this one so the guy on the top is styrofoam.

Simple Dino

Simple Dino cake - I always say, the simple cakes are really the most difficult because there is no room for mistakes, The dinosaur and I had a bit of a war. I made the body too long, and I knew it, but it was late and I wanted to be done. When Drew woke up, I said, Drew, do you love my dinosaur? He said "Well..." so I gave Mr. TRex some liposuction at the last minute. And as much as I tease Drew about hurting my feelings, it really did look so much better and I was so much happier with it.

Mustache first birthday cake - This was for an old colleague of Alan's for a first birthday. Definitely easier than the wedding cake, but the second he picked it up I fell immediately asleep on the couch. LOL

Bookworm cake

 
Bookworm  cake - This was for Alan's uncle Don C. Woodward. I was so excited to get a chance to do something like this for this amazing man. He was an editor at the Deseret News for years in different capacities, so I chose to go with the 1962 version. Mostly because I didn't think I could draw his picture if it wasn't pixilated. He has been a second grandpa to my kids since they were born and I love Don and Julie like they were my own aunt and uncle. Glad I finally had the chance to do something fun for them for a change. Here's to 30 more years of birthdays with you two!

Broncos Superbowl cake/50th birthday - Didn't have a lot of time this weekend, but did a quick cake for my Liza friend. She's just too cute to say no to. Note to self, chocolate does not take well to blue food coloring, but I made a valiant effort. Still tasty even if it looked funny. Happy Birthday Craig!

Mono-Ski birthday

Mono-Ski birthday - I have done cakes on and off for this family since Tanner was 8 years old, so it has been fun to watch the evolution of things he is into. The design was something I pieced together from a couple cakes I found online so I can't take credit for originality, but if you look at the close-up of the ski it is patterned after his exact ski. That is what I think makes these designs unique and fun!

Family Bank Robbery cake

Family Bank Robbery cake  - To anyone just glancing at the cake, it might seem like the most odd theme ever, but it was such a cute back story! I gave a one tier cake away as a Bunco prize when I hosted. My neighbor who won the prize called me and said, "You are going to think I am so weird, but my son has been obsessed with this story he read in Reader's Digest about this family who turned to a life of robbing banks after their mother died. He had a dream that we robbed a bank as a family and I was driving the get away car." If you know this kid, you would know out of character robbing a bank would be for him which made it even more funny. I giggled the whole time I was making this one and it still makes me smile every time I see it.

John Deere farm cake - Keeping with the farm theme, this was for my sweet neighbor whose grandson was turning two and he loves his John Deere! You can't tell in the picture, but the bottom layer is a tire.

John Cena cake

John Cena cake - This one was for my favorite 6 year-old, Sawyer. This kid is a kick, and so sweet. Always more fun to do cakes for my favorite people. The research on this one wasn't so bad either. Have you seen John Cena? Almost made me want to watch wrestling!  ....almost.
