This is the second year I have participated in the Macy's Candy Windows tradition. This year the theme was Christmas Traditions and the first thing that came to mind was this. I remember watching this movie over and over again. A funny discussion came up because of this. I was designing Bumble and my sister said he used to scare her. I told her he was only mean because he had a toothache and once they pulled out his teeth, he was nice again. My other sister told me I was wrong, that they pulled his teeth out so he couldn't eat them. So we went back and watched that part and she was right! It must have scared me as a child too and so I just made up a story in my head that made him seem less scary. Funny thing is, after our internet search, I found that I was not the only one who came up with that same scenario. It is actually quite a common misconception. Funny how our brains work!

Painted floral wedding cake
This was for my Nate. I have been doing birthday cakes for Nate since he was a tiny kid. He would always come up with new things for me to try. One year her wanted red velvet with cream cheese and strawberry filling. So I did that. The middle layer of his wedding cake was that flavor. This time with it being fall, he asked if I could do a pumpkin chocolate chip cake. I had never done that before either, but why not? It is now my new favorite! The top layer was a gluten-free chocolate. Half of the flowers are hand painted and half are fondant. Great concept for such a great couple.
Sugar Skull Birthday
This was for my darling Liza friend. This woman does so much for everyone around her. I always like when I can give a little bit of that back. October babies are the best!
A classic twist wedding cake
This is one of my favorites. It was for a friend from high school, which is always fun, but her sister was also friends with my sister who passed away and it was fun to re-visit some of those memories. Also, her sisters were super involved, just like my sisters and I always are. It was so fun to be a part of all of that!
Veteran Anniversary cake
This anniversary cake was for two veterans who are still friends, despite serving in two different branches. I was so happy to give something back to a couple whom willing served!
Olivia lavender wedding cake
This one was for my Olivia. Olivia is my childhood best friend's daughter and even though I secretly wanted her to end up with one of my boys because she is the most adorable girl ever....I was super happy for her and her new hubby is just as adorable as she is....well...almost. Congratulations Livi and Steven!!
Noah Baby Shower cake
This was for my adorable Hilary's new grandson. It was such a fun theme! I love making cartoon animals! I am sure he will be super adorable!
Curious George birthday
Not only did I enjoy doing this cake for the cutest boy ever because he is Alan's cousin's son, but Curious George was also my sister's favorite! She carried around a stuffed animal with her everywhere when she was a tiny kid. One of my favorite memories. Happy Birthday Grayson!
Watson Wedding cake
This was such a fun one. I thought having so many colors might be strange, but using mostly pastels made it quite stunning. This one was at a car dealership their family owns and it was such a cute setting! Can't believe my younger than me neighbor has a daughter old enough to get married! My favorite thing about doing cakes is that sometimes I also get to see old friends.
Bunny birthday
I always love doing cakes for this family. They are usually simple and sweet and sometimes those are my very favorite. This one is pink French vanilla with sprinkles on the inside. Not to mention, simple and sweet is exactly what this family is. Thanks for including me in your celebration again!
Silhouette roses wedding cake
It's funny. The less stressed I am about a cake, the more smoothly everything goes. I think these are my favorite roses maybe ever. But the piping always does me in. Every time I do it I swear I'll never do it again... but I always do.
Debbie Wedding cake
Tono graduation
My cute friend Shirley has me design cakes for her graduates and she makes me money leis for mine. I love this trade! She is super talented. This one needed to showcase his love for Adidas, Morgan wrestling and the Flash...oh, and of course his gorgeous, long, curly hair. Congratulations!
Drake Nerf Basketball Cake
This was one of my Bunco prize cakes. My cute friend Katie's son was having a Nerf/Basketball birthday party. My favorite part of this cake was the adorable thank you note I received afterward. He drew a picture of the cake on the card. Cutest thing ever!
Peterson wedding
This one was for Ethan's best friend when we lived in Roy. It still freaks me out that they are old enough to be getting married now, but I am so happy for them. Such a cute couple!
Papageorge birthday
This one was for my old neighbor. She is the sweetest, most hard-working lady. I mimicked the sign they have at the entrance to their dairy farm because it is so iconic to those who grew up on that street. It's what I think of when I think of this amazing family. Happy Birthday Helen!
