T-rex cake

T-rex cake - I have always done the sweet veggie eating variety of dinosaur in the past, so this one was fun. It is chocolate fudge cake with rice cereal treats for the head and legs.

I absolutely love your cake! I was wondering how large the base was and how many cakes you used?

I have also never ventured into the 'rice krispies' in cake, but have seen it used. Can you tell me would you slice it and serve it like the rest of the cake? Sorry for the strange questions, but I just love what you did with it!!

Thanks! The base was two 12" rounds and I cut them into 8" rounds and used the extra as the tail. I have and would serve it and slice it with the rest. I have done dinosaurs since and carved them completely out of cake now that I am more skilled at the carving part, but still love working with rice krispie treats, and let's face it....kids love them!

Hi Jen, wonderful cakes and this dinosaur one in particular was my inspiration for the birthday cake I just finished for a lovely little four-year old man, mine doesn't anywhere near as professional as yours but I am a beginner and this was my first dinosaur :-) thank you very much!

That is awesome! I would love to see it anyway. You should see my first cakes. :) You would get a laugh. Glad I could provide inspiration!
